Do this little thing to level up at work

There are simple things you can do to make a difference in your work. Maybe this sounds familiar to you.

You have a business meeting with 2-x other people. You discuss a topic and agree on how to proceed. At the moment there is no need to take action because there is no urgency. Two weeks later things change. The topic that was not so important is now more critical. You have to act. The same people meet again. First question of the meeting (the second one).

“What did we agree on last time?”

It is quite likely that none of the participants will have a concrete answer. Our memory fails us, that is the problem.

The solution is very, very simple. Yet, according to my observations, hardly anyone in a professional environment does it. And it is this: take notes during a meeting.

I have realized that when I am able taiwan whatsapp number data to search through my notes saved in Word format and extract the essential points, I add a lot of value to the group. The effort to add that value has been minimal. In fact, I usually take notes while working. I don’t have to invest more time than other people.

Right now, within the company

We are going to take this to the next level. We charities don’t need to invest large sums in expensive write down meeting notes in Confluence. That way, everyone has access to them. It is also important to have a “bore” like me who reminds everyone to take notes on important things. We have a lot of room for improvement, but we are working on it. That is the most important thing. This is something I’m not good at. I told them that a project deserves at least 12-18 months of investment of time.

On knowing when to quit

If you depend on them financially, you have to cover thailand data your daily expenses with them as soon as possible if you lack alternative income. Measure your progress from the very beginning to see how you’re progressing. Set concrete goals that you want to achieve after 3, 6, 9, x months. But I’m definitely not very good at this.

In the end, they suggested that I get in touch with another entrepreneur they had a relationship with. I said, “Sure. Why not?”

It was also interesting for me to reflect on this and other questions. At least it has given rise to a post on this blog, which is no small feat.
